Sawtooth Flying Service is currently a single pilot FAA air taxi service. The pilot, Gene Mussler, has been flying since 1966 accident-free. He has received a 5000 hour flying safety award from the State of Idaho. He is retired from a twenty year career with the USAF, and has been flying the Idaho backcountry since 1990.
Airplanes
Sawtooth Flying Service currently operates a Cessna Turbo 206 and a Cessna 180. The C-206 is a six place aircraft and can carry one-half ton load, while the C-180 is a four place aircraft and carries a 700 pound load.
The 206 has a short take-off and landing kit for operating on short, unimproved backcountry wilderness runways.
